Extract from the Code of Student Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures:

46 Committee on Student Discipline (CSD)

a. The members of the CSD shall be appointed for staggered renewable three-year terms, with the exception of Student members who shall be appointed on a one-year basis, renewable twice, but in any event not to exceed their term as a Student. All terms shall be effective 1 September.

b. Membership shall consist of:

i. The following members whose nominations originate with the Senate Nominating Committee and are approved by Senate:

• a Chair, selected from the full-time tenured academic staff;

• two or more Vice-Chairs, selected from the full-time tenured academic staff;

• eight other full-time 鶹ýվ ranked academic staff members;

• 12 Students currently registered at 鶹ýվ:

i. five of whom are selected from the membership of the Students’ Society of 鶹ýվ (SSMU) by the SSMU;

ii. three of whom are selected from the membership of the Post-Graduate Students’ Society (PGSS), by the PGSS;

iii. two of whom are selected from the membership of the 鶹ýվ Association of Continuing Education Students (MACES) by the MACES; and

iv. two of whom are selected from the membership of the Macdonald Campus Students’ Society (MCSS) by the MCSS;

• at least two Legal Assessors, preferably with experience in the areas of: Canadian criminal or civil procedure or evidence, or administrative law; and

ii. the Dean and Associate Dean of Students.

* "Legal Assessor” means a member of the full-time staff of the University who holds a law degree who has an impartial role and assists with procedural matters in the context of hearings of the CSD and the Appeal Committee.(as per article 1(s) of the Code of Student Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures)
