Course Description

The aim of this course is to provide an updated, practical approach to diagnostic and therapeutic problems commonly encountered by otolaryngologists in their daily practice. Specific topics in the different otolaryngology subspecialties will be presented by experts in the field. Interactive panel/audience discussions around case presentations will follow. Designated moderators will lead the discussion and encourage registrant participation. The facilitators include a large faculty from a number of academic centers.

Sessions will be held in the early morning and late afternoon to allow for enjoyable recreational activities during the day. Participants will enjoy the hospitality offered by the host faculty and will enjoy the ambiance offered by the Mont Tremblant ski resort.

Course Objectives

Registrants will acquire an understanding of current diagnostic and management principles in general otolaryngology and in the following subspecialties:

• Head and Neck Oncology
• Otology
• Rhinology
• Laryngology
• Pediatric Otolaryngology
• Facial Plastics / Reconstructive Surgery

Ìý

Didactic presentations and/or panel discussions will be given on the following topics:

• • Injectables in Facial Plastics
  • Managing Complications of Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
  • Immunomodulators in Head & Neck Oncology
  • The Difficult Airway (adult & pediatric)
  • Pulsatile Tinnitus
  • Other topics TBD

The sessions have been designed for interactive discussion.

Course Overall Objectives

• Recognize the knowledge updates and current concepts in the subspecialties of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
• Appreciate the impact of technological advances on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the Head and Neck.
• Understand the most current management strategies in diseases/conditions in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
• Be aware of how to integrate new technologies as well as advances in the diagnosis and treatment of Otolaryngological disorders into their practices.
