MIPC 2024: Students tackle global finance challenges with innovation and leadership

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ International Portfolio Challenge (MIPC) 2024 was held in November and drew a record 99 teams from 47 universities across 17 countries, cementing its reputation as a premier global finance competition. This year’s focus on building inclusive retirement systems for gig workers and those facing income uncertainty sparked innovative solutions from participants. A standout addition was the inaugural Women in Buy-Side Panel, addressing gender disparities in finance.

MIPC asks students to devise decumulation strategies for an inflationary environment

For its 7th edition, the 2023 Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ International Portfolio Challenge (MIPC), as part of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾â€™s Sustainable Growth Initiative (SGI), gathered over 80 teams from 27 countries to address retirement challenges amidst inflation. Participants tackled the task of developing decumulation strategies for the fictional Maple Leaf Pension Plan, simulating real-world data.

MMR student shares how L'Oréal Brandstorm led to internship

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ students earn podium finish in leading global case competition

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Desautels continues its hot streak in the case competition arena with another podium result, placing 2nd overall in the prestigious 2023 Copenhagen Business School Invitational Case competition. 12 schools flew to Copenhagen and were challenged to help Vestas, a leading company in wind power plant solutions, leverage its position to create new businesses in hydrogen technologies and develop a strategy for 2030.

Ace Squad wins 2023 Desautels Case Cup Competition 

On February 3, first-year Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Desautels MBAs participated in the annual Desautels Case Cup competition. Judged by alumni, this year’s case focused on MassChallenge, a program created by John Harthorne and Akhil Nigam that provides support and funding for startup companies.

Desautels places first at Queen's I.C.B.C. Case Competition

Congratulations to the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Desautels accounting team for their first-place win at the I.C.B.C. case competition. The team consisting of Thomas Wakeham and Francois Kik was coached and assisted by Julia Scott and Peg Brunelle.
