E&I Champions student entrepreneurship at the 2026 Dare to Venture pitch competition

Published: 25 February 2026

ճEntrepreneurship & Innovation (E&I) Initiative was proud to support this year’s Dare to Venture student startup pitch competition, hosted by the 鶹ýվ Entrepreneurship Society (MES), by contributing half of the $1,000 grand prize and participating in the expert judging panel. Dr. Niels Billou represented E&I as a member of the judging panel, helping evaluate the finalist pitches.

The event brought together some of 鶹ýվ’s most promising student founders for an evening of bold ideas and thoughtful execution. It opened with a panel discussion featuring Alex Susma (EY), Zehra Khoja (Dobson Centre), Anna Ciprick (BDC) and Allen Shashaty (Deloitte), who emphasized the importance of adaptability, resilience and sustained motivation in building successful ventures. A particularly resonant moment came when Khoja reminded the room: “You are not the hero of the story, your clients are.” Her message underscored a core entrepreneurial principle championed within E&I: meaningful impact begins with deep empathy and a rigorous understanding of customer needs.

We extend our congratulations to all participating teams — EqualDocs, Nightly, Orbit, ExchangeSublet, Jobs-to-Go, NextUp and Rhetorix.AI — for the creativity and conviction behind their ventures. Special congratulations to ExchangeSublet for earning the $1,000 grand prize.

Events like Dare to Venture reflect the strength of 鶹ýվ’s entrepreneurial ecosystem — one built on collaboration between student leaders, faculty, practitioners and institutional partners. E&I remains committed to supporting initiatives that empower students to transform ideas into ventures, and ambition into impact.
