Assistant Professor at the Department of Oncology, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾

MichaelÌýWitcherÌýreceived a PhD in Experimental Medicine at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. From there, he carried out a postdoctoral fellowship at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, in California. Since initiating an independent research program at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾, the goals of his lab are; 1) to understand the transcriptional programs that drive breast and ovarian cancer progression and to use this information to predict new therapeutic approaches using drugs targeting the epigenome 2) to understand processes modulating the repair of DNA double strand breaks and to use this information to more effectively target repair pathways. These studies encompass published works in BMC Medicine, Cancer Research, Science Advances and PNAS among others. His work has been recognized by his peers as indicated by a prestigious "Chercheur Boursier Senior" research award from the government of Quebec and continuous funding from Canadian Institute of Health Research for approximately 15 years ongoing.
