Graduate Knowledge in Action
The Graduate Knowledge in Action,听powered by听, is a 3-4-week virtual work experience designed to prepare you for the听workplace through听real business听challenges听from听either the听Humanities听and Social Sciences or the听STEM sector.听听
During the听project, you will work as a virtual Student Consultant team. You will receive a听project brief from your client and will need to听present your research and insights at the end听of the program.听You鈥檒l听receive client and听professional mentor feedback along the听way,听and听will be supported with content via听Practera鈥檚听work based听learning platform. Completion of the project will be included听on听your Student Experience Record.
You will develop skills, including innovation, service oriented, problem solving, leadership,听collaboration听and cultural consciousness.

Student Consultant Responsibilities
As a student consultant, you will need to:听

Work with your team,听mentor听and听client online, and听attend meetings听

Commit听50 hours听in total for the 4-week experience听

Attend Student Orientation听

Attend Project Briefing with your听Client听

Complete all project deliverables听
Timeline:
Projects for Doctoral students will take place from February 23 to March 29, 2026.
Projects for Master's students will take place from June 1 - June 28,听2026.
Eligibility
Doctoral student eligibility听

Must be in PhD year 1-3 in the听humanities or听social听sciences听

Must be registered full-time in the Winter semester

Must be in good academic standing
Master鈥檚 students eligibility

Must be a Master鈥檚 student (thesis or non-thesis) in:
- Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
- Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences
- Faculty of Engineering
- Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
- Faculty of Science
- Interfaculty Studies (BBME, QLS, IPN, Biophysics)听听

Must be registered full-time in the听Winter 2026 semester.

How to Apply?
Doctoral students
- Deadline to apply: Feb 5, 2026 @ 11:59pm
Master's students
- Deadline to apply: May 14, 2026 @ 11:59pm
