Iraqi National Assembly member at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾

Women's rights activist, humanitarian, physician and member of the Iraqi National Assembly, Dr Rajaa H. Khuzai will be at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ on Thursday, November 11, to discuss the challenges facing Iraqi women and students before and after Saddam Hussein.

Dr Khuzai, an obstetrician and gynecologist, was one of two women who served on the former Iraqi Governing Council. She is President of the Women's Organization in Diwaniah, founder of the Women's Health Centre in Baghdad and the Widows' Care Organization.

Dr Khuzai is traveling through North America with her neurosurgeon husband and pharmacology student daughter presenting lectures. Her Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ talk is entitled "Before and after Saddam: Challenges facing women and students in Iraq."

Dr Khuzai's visit to Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ is sponsored by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Centre for Research and Teaching on Women.
