Expert: Orbán’s defeat in Hungary

In an election that brought a record-high turnout, Viktor Orbán, Hungary’s prime minister for the last 16 years, was defeated Sunday by Péter Magyar, leader of the country’s centre-right, pro-European Union Tisza Party.

This change could have important repercussions for Hungary as well as for Europe.
