U.S Temporary Visas

Important Information

  1. To re-enter Canada, make sure that your Passport, CAQ and Study Permit are valid.
  2. You should also have a printed Proof of Enrolment letter for the current term from Minerva.

Case 1: For students who need TRV to enter Canada

For students who are from countries that require Temporary Resident Visas (Entry Visa - TRV) to enter Canada, If you are ONLY visiting the U.S and travelling by:

  1. Land: You do not need the TRV when returning from the U.S. However, we recommend renewing your TRV if possible, if it is expired.
  2. Air: Please confirm with your airline.

Case 2: For students who need eTA to enter Canada

For students who are from countries that require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to Canada:

  1. You do not require an eTA if you are a student or worker and you re-enter Canada after only visiting either the United States or St. Pierre and Miquelon, provided that you return to Canada by the end of the period initially authorized for your stay or any extension to it.
