The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Global Health Scholars – Undergraduate program offers Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ undergraduate students the opportunity to learn about and gain global health experience through participation in research projects. During the summer, each Global Health Scholar is involved in a global health project either at an international or northern Canadian site or in Montreal or Gatineau, under the supervision and mentorship of a Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ faculty member.

Black History Month: Salsa Dance Workshop

The Black History Month (BHM) Planning Collective of the School of Population and Global Health invites the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ community to a salsa workshop. This event will serve to shed light on the history and context for one of the most popular dances currently, salsa. Taught by Gabrielle Jacob, a current PhD student in the department, the salsa dance class will include the Afro-Cuban origins of salsa and a basic class on one of the styles of salsa, Salsa on2, created in New York City.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
