Global Health Simulation Fellowship Application Deadline

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Global Health Programs and the Steinberg Center for Simulation and Interactive Learning at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ are jointly offering a fellowship for medical professionals from low and middle income countries.

We are looking for individuals who will take back their new knowledge and skills learned during their fellowship to either implement a program or begin simulation-based research at their respective institution.

Program Offering:

Fellows will be invited to attend theÌýSimnovate international medical simulation conference from May 5-6th, 2016. They will then stay in Montreal for two additional weeks, observing simulation activities offered at the Steinberg Center for Simulation and Interactive Learning at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. Depending on individual interest, they will also have the opportunity to meet with global health professionals in the Faculty of Medicine.

Opportunities for the Fellows will include*:

  • Overview of the Steinberg Center for Simulation and Interactive Learning and the facilities it offers, research initiatives etc.
  • Observations of a range of simulation-based trainings run by the center (e.g.Ìý ultrasound simulation training, advanced life support trainings)
  • Networking and mentorship opportunities with global health experts in fellow’s area(s) of interest

*Depending on the individual interests of the fellow, a customized program will be developed

Provisions:

Economic travel and hotel accommodations will be provided for by Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ and fees to attend Simnovate will be waived. All other expenses including food, transport, and visa fees are the fellow’s responsibilities.

Application:

If interested in this program, please prepare an application letter in pdf format including your CV and no more than two pages discussing:

  • Your previous work in simulation OR your previous work in quality related issues
  • Why and how you will use this fellowship to implement simulation in your country/institution.

Fellows will be selected by the expert committee at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ and will be hosted by Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ from May 4th-May 21st 2016 (dates subject to change depending on air travel).

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
