What is an All You Care to Eat (AYCTE) meal plan and how does it work?

A:The AYCTE meal plan is mandatory for all residence students and offers them unlimited access to the dining halls, with no restrictions on how often you enter, or what you eat. Simply swipe your card upon entering the dining hall and enjoy as much as you care to eat.

What food options are offered on this meal plan?

A: A variety of hot and self-serve stations are offered, and all meals are dine-in. Our daily and weekly menus feature delicious, freshly prepared, home cooked meals to meet the needs of our diverse population. Vegan, vegetarian and made-without-gluten food options are always available.

Does the plan accommodate students with dietary restrictions?

A:The menus on the AYCTE meal plan pay close attention to the top allergens, and we offer students who need special dietary attention options that take these into account.

Who is the plan for?

A:This plan is mandatory for all downtown resident students living in the traditional and hotel style residences.

Are there any exemptions from the meal plan?

A: No you cannot opt out of the mandatory meal plan.

What happens to students who are not on the All You Care to Eat Meal Plan? Can they come and eat in the dining halls too?

A:Our dining halls are open to anyone on campus, including non-residence students, staff and faculty. Simply pay a flat meal fee for a one-time, all you care to eat visit.

Saver Meal Plan

Where can I eat with the Saver Meal Plan?

A:ÌýThe Saver Meal Plan, is a voluntary plan that is accepted at all the food locations on campus, including all the All You Care To Eat Residential Dining Halls. See the map for complete list.

What happens when my Saver Meal Plan expires at the end of the term?

A: Any unused dollars expire at the end of each term. Unused dollars are not refundable.

How can I add funds to my Saver Meal Plan?

A: If you run out of food dollars, you simply need to Top Up on the .

I have a food allergy. What can the dining service do for me?

Who do I see if I have specific dietary restrictions?

A: You can meet with our Dietician.

Does Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Food and Dining Services offer Fair Trade coffee?

Rules and Policies

Can you take food out of the dining halls?

A: Food from the dining hall cannot be taken outside. Dishes, cutlery, glasses, and cups are to be returned to the designated area for cleaning and not removed from the dining hall. Additional, outside food and containers are not allowed in the dining halls.

What are the health and safety policies?

Alcohol Policy: Alcohol consumption is strictly forbidden on premises. Individuals who appear intoxicated will be asked to leave the premises.

Behavior: Respectful behaviour is required; any form of aggression, verbal or physical, will not be tolerated.

Emergency Exits: Emergency exits should only be used in case of emergencies to ensure everyone’s safety.

Food Consumption: Take only what you can eat to reduce waste; feel free to come back for as many servings as you need to satiate yourself.

ID Usage: Your Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ ID is essential for entry. Please keep it with you and refrain from lending it to others, as this is considered stealing and will result in disciplinary action.

Personal Belongings: Do not leave your personal belongings unattended to prevent theft.Ìý

Respect: Please show respect to our employees who are here to provide you with the best service.Ìý

Sharing Space: Seating is limited, so please be considerate and share tables during busy times.

Sleeping: Sleeping in the dining halls is not permitted.

Smoking and Vaping: Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the dining hall or university grounds.

Surveillance: A surveillance system is in place to ensure safety and security.

Are any animals allowed in the food court?

A: No, the only animals allowed are service dogs.

What happens to my AYCTE Meal Plan if I leave Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾?

What happens to my AYCTE Meal Plan if I switch to either a residence without a AYCTE Meal Plan or move out of residence completely?

What happens to my AYCTE Meal Plan if I move to another residence with a AYCTE Meal Plan?

A: Your AYCTE Residential Meal Plan will be transferred with you when you move to another residence associated with the AYCTEÌýResidential Meal Plan.
