Dr. Samer Abi Nader
Undergraduate Dental EducationÌý

In his role of Associate Dean of Undergraduate Dental EducationÌý(UGDE), Dr. Abi NaderÌýisÌýresponsible for ensuringÌýthat the Faculty is providing the best possible education forÌýourÌýstudentsÌýthrough a continuous assessment, evaluation and modernisation of our Dental Curriculum to offer academic content that remains current and competitive.ÌýDr. Abi Nader also works closelyÌýwith the Assistant DeanÌýUGDEÌýto make sure that our academic programÌýmeets all accreditation standards and requirements as well as properly prepare the students for licensure examination.ÌýDr. Sam takes a leading role in academic policy, curriculum development (particularly restorative andÌýimplantology) and evaluations.Ìý

Dr. Nathalie Morin
Undergraduate Dental Education, Clinical Affairs

In her role as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Dental Education, Clinical Affairs, Dr. Morin is working towards creating a strategic plan to implement new approaches to optimize patient-centred care and clinical education, as well as improving the cost-effectiveness of clinical activities across the Faculty. Dr. Nathalie Morin completed her DMD in 1990 and her Master’s Degree in Dental Public Health from the NIDCR in 2004. Throughout her career, she has continued practising general dentistry, and plays an active role in provincial and national dental organizations

Dr. Faleh Tamimi
Research and Graduate Dental Education

Dr. Tamimi supports the Faculty’s research mission in maintaining its excellence in innovation and graduate training.ÌýDr. Tamimi holds a BDS degree from the University of Jordan, and a PhD in Biomaterials and clinical certificates in Geriatric Dentistry and Implant Prosthodontics from the Complutense University of Madrid. He also completed postdoctoral research training at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. Dr. Tamimi rejoined the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences in September 2025 as a full Professor. His multidisciplinary and translational research covers various areas including the fields of biomaterials, tissue regeneration, inflammation, and chronobiology. He has published over 240 peer-reviewed articles and has received important awards including a Canada Research Chair (Tier-2), the W.W. Wood Excellence in Teaching Award, and The Vital Dent Award for Innovation in Dentistry.

Dr. Nicholas Maroun Makhoul
Postgraduate Dental Education (PGDE)

In his role as Associate Dean, Dr. Makhoul is responsible for overseeing all academic post-graduate dental programs (i.e. dental residency programs). He helps coordinate programs between different residency sites and disciplines. He is also available to work with residency program directors to ensure that residents are receiving a high quality education in an environment conducive to learning.

Assistant Deans

Dr. Julia Cohen-Levy
Undergraduate Dental Education

In her role as Assistant Dean, Dr. Cohen-Levy assistsÌýin matters related to the undergraduate dental curriculum and evaluation,Ìýthe administration of academic policy and curriculumÌýdevelopment for the undergraduate dental programs (DENT-P, DMD). She works toÌýensure that courses are complete, current, and meet all accreditation standards and that all Faculty and University regulationsÌýareÌýfollowed. She is alsoÌýthe co-chair of Admissions andÌýresponsible for ensuringÌýthat the undergraduate program preparesÌýstudents to becomeÌýcompetent dentistsÌýwho areÌýqualified to take examinations for licensure.Ìý

Firoozeh Samim
Student Affairs and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

As Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and as chair of the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences'ÌýEDI Committee, Dr. Samim will support the Faculty's goal to implement actionable goals and concrete plans towards building a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive culture in the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences.
