We educate, empower, and equip you with in-demand and emerging professional skills and competencies through experiential and work-integrated learning, applied research, and support services for adult learners, such as academic and career advising.

Our learning solutions are offered part- and full-time, both in-person and online, and include comprehensive undergraduate, graduate, and professional development certificates, micro-credentials, workshops, self-directed learning, and other upskilling/reskilling opportunities.

We offer peer learning opportunities for seniors who want to learn, socialize, and share ideas within the vibrant Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Community for Lifelong Learning.

We also work with employers to help them address their unique workforce talent development priorities and partner with other academic institutions to deliver customized courses and programs.

Our History

In 1899, Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ first introduced summer school for regular Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ daytime students, providing off-session regular program classes administered by the University’s Extension program. As the demand for continuing education grew, extension, extra-mural, and adult education courses became more readily available.

In 1968, Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ launched the Centre of Continuing Education –  the predecessor to what is today the School of Continuing Studies. The Centre was intended for the community at large and developed with the community’s needs in mind.
