Note: If you are off campus you need to be logged in to the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ VPN to access the file server.

Instructions for Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Campus Computer

Instructions for Personal PC

  1. Go to Computer and click Map Network Drive
  2. Choose Drive Letter Z:
  3. In the Folder box type:Ìý

  4. SelectÌýReconnect at logonÌýthen clickÌýFinish
  5. Login with yourÌýÂé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ e-mail and password
  6. Note:Ìýthis network will not appear when you restart your computer. To fix this, right clickÌýComputerÌýand selectÌýAdd a network location

  7. You will be prompted by the following steps. Make sure you enter the above address in the Network AddressÌýbar.ÌýWhen you click NextÌýon the final step (image 3)Ìýyou will once again have to enter yourÌýÂé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Credentials

  8. A folder with the network name will appear belowÌýComputer.ÌýWhen you restart/turn on your computer, click on that folder to connect to the facility network

Instructions for MAC

  1. Open The Finder and click the GoÌýmenu
  2. Select Connect to Server
  3. In the Server Address box enter:

    smb://campus.mcgill.ca/medicine/research/imagingfacility

  4. Click Connect
  5. In the following window, select Registered User
  6. Enter your Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ SHORTNAME (ie. jsmith) and regular password
  7. Click Connect again
  8. Click the + in the Connect to Server window to add the server to your favorites.
  9. The server should be found in the Finder window now, from which you can access your lab's folder.
  10. Note:Ìýif this does not work, use the address:Ìýsmb://imgfacility.medicine.mcgill.ca/core
