°Õ³ó±ðÌýGreen Light Microscopy (GLM) ProjectÌýwas funded by theÌýSustainability Projects Fund (SPF)Ìýas a SPF Project. Through the SPF the ABIF had the resources to become theÌýfirst mercury-free facility on Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ campus.ÌýThe campaign was originally titled Mercury Free Microscopy, but was later changed to become more inclusive of other sustainable advantages of the program such as reductions in energy consumption, health hazards, ownership costs and waste streams.


The SPF mandate is to:

"Build a culture of sustainability on Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ campuses through the development and seed-funding of interdisciplinary projects"

This mandate creates opportunities for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ community to actively engage in sustainability initiatives on campus, and therefore become advocatesÌýfor change in their own studying and working environment.ÌýAnyone in Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ can apply to the SPF for funding by means of submitting a project application before the scheduled deadlines set by theÌýorganization.
