Dr. Faiz Ahmad Khan: Advancing Indigenous Respiratory Health

Dr. Faiz Ahmad Khan is leading an initiative in Nunavik to combat tuberculosis (TB) and make respiratory care more accessible for Indigenous communities living in remote areas. Not only are these populations disproportionately affected by TB, but there is also a significant care gap due to systemic barriers and a history of Indigenous communities being left out of medical research. Through research, advocacy, and meaningful partnerships, Dr. Khan and his team are reshaping what it means to deliver care that is equitable, culturally grounded, and effective.

Congratulations to our first year fellows (from left to right: Julien Ferland, Hosam Abou-Tok, and Alexander Ni) who were the winners of the "2025 Annual Canadian Thoracic Society Mastermind Challenge: A Team-Based Competition Among Respiratory Fellows". Despite stiff competition from other teams of respiratory fellows from all across Canada (including second year fellows), the �鶹��ý��վ team was victorious ! Many of the �鶹��ý��վ Respiratory Division faculty as well as our second year fellows were there to cheer them on. Well done!
