Research Funding Checklist

Ìý(March 31, 2025)

NEW: Web-based Research Funding Checklist (RFC) now available in eRAP

As of March 31, 2025, the Research Funding Checklist transitioned to an online format and the PDF version of the Checklist was discontinued. The new online Checklist must be completed directly in by researchers (Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ email address and password required to log in). Reference guides for the completion of the online Checklist may also be found in and .

Assistant access requests may be submitted through theÌý.

Eligible applicants include:

  • Research assistants submitting on behalf of a professor
  • Students submitting under the supervision of a professor

Note:ÌýResearch assistants and students will be granted access to the professor’s RFC records. Students will only be granted temporary access; however, their general eRAP access will remain afterwards.

  • The ResearchÌýFunding ChecklistÌýmust be completed for all externally funded grants and project agreements.

Table of Commitments (March 31, 2025)

  • TheÌýTable of CommitmentsÌýis a tool to ensure the appropriate validation and approval of university cash and in-kind contributions to research projects and agreements. Once complete, please attach the Table to the Checklist where requested and it will follow the same approval process (a signed Table is no longer required, except in specific circumstances - see instructions in the Table).
  • ApplicantsÌýrequesting salary support for any Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ academic in their research project budgets mustÌýcomplete theÌýFaculty Salary Request FormÌýand have it approved by the appropriate department/faculty signing authorities for salary requests and attach it to the Checklist where requested. Temporary Release of Funds

This document allowsÌýthe Office of Sponsored Research to authorize temporary release of funds (ROF) prior to obtaining ethics approval. A Temporary ROF can also be requested if the PIÌýhas already submitted an application/amendment for ethics consideration and approval is forthcoming.ÌýClick here to download the fillable Temporary ROF form.
