Reappointment of Deep Saini as President and Vice Chancellor

Dear members of the Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ community,

I am pleased to announce that the Board of Governors has approved the reappointment of Professor Deep Saini as President and Vice‑Chancellor of Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ for a further five‑year term, beginning July 1, 2028.

As communicated in November 2025, the Board initiated a reappointment process for Professor Saini in the fall of 2025, recognizing that the University’s period of significant development and transformation heightens the need for stable and strong leadership, and for certainty around the President’s tenure.

The Board’s decision follows a comprehensive and consultative reappointment process led by an Advisory Committee established for this purpose under the Statutes of Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. The Committee undertook a detailed assessment of President Saini’s performance during his current term, carefully considered the University’s institutional priorities and future direction, and sought robust feedback from across the University community. Following its work, the Committee submitted its recommendation to reappoint Professor Saini to the Board for consideration at its meeting of April 23, 2026.

After thoughtful deliberation, the Board unanimously accepted the Advisory Committee’s recommendation, reaffirming that continuity of strong leadership at this pivotal moment is in Â鶹´«Ã½Íøվ’s best interest. President Saini’s clear and compelling vision for the University, his strong commitment to strengthening trust and engagement across the community, and the importance of sustained leadership for major initiatives underpinning the President’s Priorities provide a solid foundation for a successful second term. The Board is confident that this renewed mandate will enable the University to build on recent progress and advance an ambitious, forward‑looking institutional agenda.

On behalf of the Board of Governors, I extend my sincere congratulations to President Saini and look forward to the continued leadership, collaboration, and progress his second term will bring.

I also extend my thanks to the members of the Advisory Committee for their diligent work, as well as to all members of the University community who provided valuable input during the reappointment process.
