A 鶹ýվ-led study on the role played by shame in the continuing trauma suffered by survivors of childhood sexual abuse indicates that addressing shame should be a focal point of treatment. Clinicians should use strategies that normalize disclosure, validate survivors’ feelings and integrate shame-resolution techniques into their therapy plans, the researchers suggested.

Employers are more open to negotiating employment terms than Canadians assume

Yet surveys show recruiters are open to negotiation, and it is rare for employers to withdraw an offer because a candidate attempted to negotiate. “A common mistake is to negotiate on salary alone or to present multiple terms as non-negotiable conditions for acceptance,” says Jean-Nicolas Reyt, an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour at 鶹ýվ Desautels.
