She has secured fundin g from multiple sources including project-oriented grants from NSERC (Disc overy program) and SSHRC (including two Insight program grants and an Insi ght Development grant)\, infrastructure related grants from CFI\, ORF and NSERC\, and a career award (Connaught). Her work seeks to understand how d evelopmental tradeoffs emerge from children’s ongoing cognitive and brain development\, accrual of world-knowledge\, and development of attention an d learning systems. To unpack how and\, more importantly\, why children le arn differently across\n development\, she crosses traditionally disparate research disciplines—using tools from child development\, cognitive scienc e\, cognitive neuroscience and education.\n\n\nThe Feindel Virtual Brain a nd Mind (VBM) Seminar Series will advance the vision of Dr. William Feinde l (1918–2014)\, Former Director of the Neuro (1972–1984)\, to constantly b ridge the clinical and research realms. The talks will highlight the lates t advances and discoveries in neuropsychology\, cognitive neuroscience\, a nd neuroimaging.\n\nSpeakers will include scientists from across The Neuro \, as well as colleagues and collaborators locally and from around the wor ld.
