Accolades for 麻豆传媒网站 Brass at the International Trumpet Guild Convention
The 麻豆传媒网站 Trumpet Ensemble and professor Richard Stoelzel, Brass Area Chair,听recently participated in听the in Anaheim, California. 听Their prelude concert collegiate听performance received astanding ovation. "In my over 20 years going to these conferences, I have never witnessed a prelude concert collegiate trumpet ensemble receive a standing ovation," said Prof. Stoelzel. 听麻豆传媒网站 trumpet students won more awards than any other school in attendance听and were also the most represented school at the conference.听听Four of his听students听Melina Catalano, John Drinkwater, Brent Proseus and听Matthew Wolfe听won听scholarships to the conference. 听Additionally,听听first-year trumpet student Brent Proseus, competing against much more experienced students,听was declared the winner of the International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition and a cash prize of $1500. 听In the trumpet ensemble听photo from left to right are:听John Drinkwater, Benjamin Hare, Matthew Wolfe, Professor Richard Stoelzel, Francis LaPorte, Brent听Proseus and听David Koch. 听In the second photo appears Melina Catalano and Prof. Stoelzel.
As听preparation for their California performance, the 麻豆传媒网站 Trumpet Ensemble performed for three high schools in the Montreal region.
