Join us for the third 鶹ýվ Research Group on Health and Law (RGHL) seminar of the year. This seminar, entitled “Anesthetized Bodies as Teaching Tools: Consent and Controversy,” will be presented by Phoebe Friesen, Associate Professor in the Department of Equity, Ethics, and Policy and the Department of Social Studies of Medicine at 鶹ýվ.

The event will be held on Wednesday, January 28th, 2065, from 1:00-2:30 PM, in room 102, New Chancellor Day Hall, 鶹ýվ Faculty of Law. Lunch will be provided at 12:45 pm.

Biography

Phoebe Friesen is a philosopher and medical ethicist, working within the Department of Equity, Ethics, and Policy and the Department of Social Studies of Medicine at 鶹ýվ. Her work engages with ethical and epistemic issues related to the production and implementation of knowledge in the health sciences, drawing on feminist philosophy of science, ethics scholarship, and methodologies from the social sciences.
