Our goal for this session would be to foster ideas for moving forward with this research.\n\n \n\n(10:00 - 11:0 0)\n Tamara Carver\, PhD\; Monica Molinaro\, PhD\; Meredith Young\, PhD\n\n Ask the IHSE: Crowdsourcing questions for a new mentorship podcast\n\nSo m uch of our knowledge about research\, scholarship\, teaching\, and career development - or the 'how to' of research and scholarship in Health Scienc es Education and beyond - is tacit\, implicit\, and likely hard-earned. Wh ile the sharing of this knowledge\, including lessons learned from navigat ing\, thriving\, and failing within one's academic career is often one of the main benefits of mentorship\, not all trainees and/or academics have a ccess to a mentor\, or\, at times\, the advice received from mentors and f riends in their network can vary greatly.\n\nThrough our own collective ex periences of figuring out the 'how to' of navigating relationships\, publi shing\, conferences\, and other academic topics on our own\, or through co nversations with each other\, supervisors\, mentors\, and friends\, we've identified that there is a need for equitable access to the wealth of expe rience and expertise of what it means to be a researcher and academic at t he IHSE and beyond. Thus\, Ask 5 People\, an unscripted and informal video podcast aimed at generating an equitable and public facing bank of expert ise of what it means to participate in\, engage with\, and build community within HSE and beyond\, has been created.\n \n As the crux of the podcast i s to ask questions that we have all\, at some point\, asked or been asked about being in the academic\, we come to you with a small request: what ar e your questions? The hope of our time in this meeting is to crowdsource f rom our IHSE community - what have you asked or been asked?\n\nTAMARA CARV ER\, PhD is the Director of the Office of Ed-TECH (Education Technology an d E-learning Collaboration for Health) for the Faculty of Medicine and Hea lth Sciences\, located at the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interact ive Learning. Previously\, Professor Molinaro was a Banting Postdoct oral Fellow in the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University\, where she was also a MERIT (McMaster Faculty of Health Sciences program fo r Education\, Research\, Innovation\, and Theory) Scholar\, and instructor in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Undergraduate program.\n\nMEREDITH YOU NG\, PhD\, is an Associate Professor and Associate Director\; Research at the Institute of Health Sciences Education at Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. She earne d her PhD in cognitive psychology from McMaster University studying how in dividuals (both individuals with and without medical expertise) think thro ugh a variety of complex problems in medicine. \n\n \n DTSTART:20240208T140000Z DTEND:20240208T160000Z SUMMARY:IHSE Meeting URL:/ihse/channels/event/ihse-meeting-348872 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
