Guests and Seating

The Spring 2026 Convocation ceremonies are ticketed events. Guests will need a ticket to access the venue. In early May, graduates will receive an email with the link to the ticket system. They will be able to purchase up to four (4) guest tickets ($20+tax/ticket). IMPORTANT: guests will not be let into the venue without a ticket.

The ceremonies are live-streamed so family and guests can also watch from venues off campus. Please see the Guests section of the FAQ page if you have any questions.


The Venues

Downtown Ceremonies

The Spring Convocation ceremonies (Downtown Campus) will be held in the Tomlinson Fieldhouse, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Sport Complex. To access the venue, all graduates and guests must use the Tomlinson Fieldhouse entrance as shown in the image below. The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Sports Complex entrance located at 475 Pine Ave. West will not be used for Convocation. Please do not use this entrance. Additional details on accessing the venue, including Shuttle Service, will be updated by mid-March 2026.

Macdonald Campus Ceremonies

The Spring Convocation ceremonies for the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences will be held in the Centennial Centre Ballroom, Macdonald Campus.ÌýTo access the venue, all graduates and guests are asked to use the main entrance as shown in the image below.

Car/Taxi Drop-off

You can get dropped off at the Tomlinson Fieldhouse by car or taxi.

The way to access the venue is by driving north on Park Avenue and taking a left on Chemin Olmstead. Refer to the map for more details.

Drop-offs are considered local traffic so your car or taxi can turn on Chemin Olmstead. There is a sign at the corner of Chemin Olmstead that indicates in French 'local traffic only/circulation locale seulement'.

Walking to the Venue

If you are walking to the venue, do not use the entrance at 475 Pine Ave. West. This entrance is not used for Convocation. The Tomlinson Fieldhouse entrance is located on the north side of the building, access is via the road on the right side of the building. You will need to walk toward the corner of Park and Pine Avenue and use the road that leads to the Tomlinson Fieldhouse entrance as shown in the image below. Follow the road to the north side of the building and look for the red and white balloons.

IMPORTANT: The walking path is gravel and there are stairs to get to the Tomlinson Fieldhouse. This path is not recommended for anyone with mobility issues.

Metro/Bus

The is located close to Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾'s downtown campus on the , providing a convenient option for getting to the university. This is the simplest and most recommended mode of transportation when attending convocation. The Convocation Shuttle Bus stop at 680 Sherbrooke St. West is a short walk from the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ metro station.

The is also an option to get to the Tomlinson Fieldhouse. From this station, you can take the STM 80 Bus up Parc Ave and get off at the corner of Parc Ave and Pine Ave. From there you would need to use the walking path next to the Fieldhouse to get to the entrance. Note that this option is not recommended for anyone with mobility issues.

Public transportation in the city is handled by the Société de transport de Montréal ().

Fares:

$3.75 for one trip; $7.00 for two.
Unlimited evening pass (6:00pm-5:00am): $6.50.
Day pass (24 hours): $11.25.
3-day pass: $21.75.
Unlimited weekend pass: $16.75.

Airport

If you are arriving from the airport on the , you will already possess a 24-hour day metro/bus pass. Guests arriving by airplane can consult this for information on how to get to the city from the airport.

Bike share

is a public bicycle-sharing program originating in Montreal. The base rate of unlocking a bike for a one-way pass costs $1.50, plus an extra fee of 20 cents per minute while riding a regular bike or 35 cents per minute while riding an electric one. Bikes can be checked out and subsequently returned to any of the hundreds of in the city, including one just outside of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Service Point on McTavish Street.

Parking

There is no public parking at the Tomlinson Fieldhouse.

The best option is to leave your car at home and avoid the traffic in the city core. Montreal has many one-way streets and traffic customs you may be unfamiliar with. All street signs will be in French. There is no parking on the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Downtown Campus.Ìý
