He has more than four decades of experience studyi ng innovation\, R&D\, and talent strategy in contemporary China. Currently \, he is holder of the Bank of America Chair in International Finance at t he Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University. He also is a Senior Fellow a t the Quincy Institute in Washington\, DC. He is former Visiting Professor within the Asian Pacific Studies Institute at Duke University (2022-2025) . From 2015-2022\, he served as professor of practice at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and Executive Vice Chancellor of Duke Kunshan Un iversity in China from 2015-2020. He was a founding member of the Experts Group of the US-China Innovation Dialogue organized by the White House Off ice of Science and Technology Policy and China’s Ministry of Science & Tec hnology (2008-2016). He also has served as senior adviser on China and SIO at several major U.S. universities. From 1995-2000\, he was general manag er of Andersen Consulting in Beijing (now Accenture) and was founding pres ident of Monitor Group China (2001-2002). He earned his PhD and MA from UC Berkeley and his BA from SUNY New Paltz. He speaks and reads Mandarin Chi nese. In 2006\, he was awarded the China National Friendship Award by then Premier Wen Jiabao in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.\n Pitman Po tter: Emeritus Professor of Law at University of British Columbia. Potter’ s teaching and research have focused on PRC and Taiwan law and policy in t he areas of international trade and investment\, dispute resolution\, prop erty and contract law\, and human rights. Prior to his retirement in 2020\ , Potter also practiced as an attorney licensed in British Columbia\, Wash ington State and California handling China business and arbitration matter s. Dr. Potter has served on the Boards of Directors of several public inst itutions\, including the Canada-China Business Council and the Asia Pacifi c Foundation of Canada (APFC) where he is currently a Distinguished Fellow Emeritus. Potter is a Deacon in the Anglican Church of Canada (Diocese of New Westminster).
