This annual contest challenges postsecondary students from across the country to demonstrate鈥攊n less than three minutes or 300 words鈥攈ow SSHRC-funded research is making a difference in the lives of Canadians.

Matthew Slopecki, KPE, Receives Mitacs Accelerate Doctoral Fellowship for Collaborative Project with Swimming Canada
Congratulations to Matthew Slopecki Ph.D. (c) (Biomechanics of Occupation and Sport Lab) who has been awarded a 3-year Mitacs Accelerate Doctoral Fellowship. He will be working with Swimming Canada to develop a fatigue/performance monitoring tool with the elite para-swimming team.
Through this collaboration greater knowledge will be gained for an under-researched population while developing a tool that will help to improve athletic performance.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has been a source of deep preoccupation to many of us. As Principal of our university, I am reminded of the need for 鈥� and the potential fragility of 鈥� stability and peace in order to pursue higher learning and the advancement of knowledge.
