Biography: 

Maria Della Posta was named president, Pratt & Whitney Canada in June 2019. Maria leads all global operations, engineering, customer service, sales, marketing and business development organizations, and a team of more than 15,000 employees worldwide. She is focused on launching products and services that drive growth and deliver exceptional customer service across all company segments including general and business aviation, regional turboprop, helicopter, auxiliary power unit, and security & defense markets.

Maria joined Pratt & Whitney Canada in 1985 and progressed through roles of increasing leadership in Supply Chain, Finance and Customer Service. Named vice president, Customer Support in 2001, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing in 2010, and senior vice president Pratt & Whitney Canada in 2012, Maria has been instrumental in driving a significant business model transformation, customer-centric culture and focus on transformative technology. Committed to forging strong relationships with customers, Maria drove the creation of the P&WC Customer Service organization and Customer First helpdesk, today equipped to respond to customers around the clock. She led the growth of a global aftermarket network which supports an extensive portfolio of more than 67,000 engines in service and 16,000 customers worldwide. Across its segments, the Pratt & Whitney Canada team is leading the way toward continually improving propulsion system efficiency, from class-leading current products to synthetic aviation fuels and alternate technology solutions such as hybrid electric. Maria championed the introduction of category-changing engines – including the PW800 turbofan engine powering business jets, the technologically advanced PT6E-Series™ which powers leading turboprop aircraft, and the PW127XT turboprop engine series which has become the new standard for regional next-generation commercial aircraft. Under her leadership, the company has celebrated the production of over 110,000 engines and the achievement of more than 1 billion hours of flight.

Maria is a champion of nurturing talent both within and outside the company. In 2023, Maria was awarded the James C. Floyd Award by the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) for her contribution to Canada’s aerospace industry. Maria was invited by the Mayor of Longueuil in 2023 to sign the City of Longueuil’s Golden Book, honoring her contribution to the industry and P&WC’s contribution to the prosperity of the city.

She has presided over and serves on various boards, associations and philanthropic organizations. She has been a member of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ MBA Mentoring Advisory Board and is also a former member of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ MBA Advisory Board. Maria is currently the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Health Centre (MUHC) Foundation Chair of the Board of Directors.

Maria holds an MBA and bachelor’s degree in commerce from Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾.
