Professor Richard Donovan honoured in MBA Japan case competition

In honour of the late Professor Richard Donovan, the Desautels MBA Japan program recently hosted the 鶹ýվ MBA Japan Case Competition. The internal event gives students a chance to put their knowledge to practice by bringing them together over 24 hours to solve a case competition.

Teams presented to a judging panel of 鶹ýվ MBA Japan alumni before the winners—Hoson Kablawi, Naohisa Takahashi, and Hazuki Yamashita—were awarded the Richard Donovan Cup.

Desautels MBA students place third in social business case competition

Desautels MBA candidates Tiffany K. Ellis, Kelly Gonzalez, Garima Singh, and Meghan McCoubrey placed third at the recent Creative Shock Case Competition. Initially competing against 600 teams globally, the Desautels team travelled to Vilnius, Lithuania from November 26 to December 2 to compete as one of the top 10 finalists in the social business case competition.

Desautels MBA student takes top spot at Deloitte case competition

Congratulations to 鶹ýվ student Yuan Chu Zi Lao (MBA’21) on her first-place win at the recent Deloitte Impact Case Competition. The competition kicked off at the Deloitte offices in Montreal on November 22, where eight teams were formed, and the case was presented to students. Yuan was grouped with 鶹ýվ engineering student Dante Nesparoli and HEC Montréal students Thao-Anne Le and Felicia Élise Ngoma.

Desautels MBA students win first place in ethical case competition

From November 21–23, twelve teams from across Canada participated in the Scotiabank Ethics in Action case competition at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Desautels MBA students Ajay Singh, Matthew Trecha, Yasmien Emara, and Ashna Agnihotri scored first place in the graduate category, taking home a cash prize of $2,000. The competition challenged students with complex ethical dilemmas that they were likely to face in today's corporate environment.

鶹ýվ Desautels MBA team wins Social Business Creation competition at HEC Montréal

For the second year in a row, a team of 鶹ýվ Desautels MBA students won first prize in the Social Business Creation competition held at HEC Montréal. The winning team unveiled their business plan for Turbodega, a social enterprise that would create management tools to help small grocers in emerging economies track their daily sales in real time. Jointly hosted by HEC Montréal and the Yunus Centre, the competition challenges students to develop as social entrepreneurs.
