Biography: 

Dr Snell is a Professor of Medicine at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾, an active Core Faculty member of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾â€™s Centre for Medical Education and is the Senior Clinician Educator at the Royal College of Physicians Surgeons of Canada. She obtained her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Alberta, and a Master's degree in Medical Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and did her Internal Medicine residency at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. She has served as Vice Chair (Education) in the Department of Medicine, Associate Physician-in-Chief MUHC, Director of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Division of General Internal Medicine, Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾, Director of the Undergraduate Internal Medicine program & Program Director of the General Internal Medicine Fellowship. She has been President of the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine and Governor of the American College of Physicians for Quebec, and has served on the executive of the Canadian Association of Medical Education.

She is active in teaching, administration and educational scholarship at all levels of medical training.  She co-directs the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Master’s program in Medical Education. Her current education and research interests include improving teaching skills of faculty and residents, teaching & evaluating CanMEDS competencies, issues in clinical teaching and learning, leadership in medical education and educational scholarship. She has organized and participated in faculty development, resident development and teaching improvement programs, and education and leadership presentations across Canada and internationally.
