Julian Huertas Garcia
Dr. Julian Huertas Garcia is a General Internist at the Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Health Centre (MUHC) and Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. He has been practicing at Lachine Hospital since 2019 and currently serves as Site Director for General Internal Medicine, a role he has held since 2020.
Dr. Huertas Garcia obtained his medical degree from Universidad El Bosque in Bogotá, Colombia, before completing residency training in Internal Medicine and General Internal Medicine at Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. He subsequently pursued additional training in echocardiography at the Jewish General Hospital.
In his role at Lachine Hospital, Dr. Huertas Garcia has been actively involved in the coordination of inpatient medical services, resident and medical student education, and departmental quality improvement and clinical operations initiatives. He has also participated in multiple MUHC institutional and departmental committees related to clinical operations, medical education, perioperative care, and physician wellness. His academic and clinical interests include acute care medicine, perioperative medicine, echocardiography, and medical education.
In addition to his institutional responsibilities, Dr. Huertas Garcia is actively involved in national medical organizations. He currently serves on the Council of the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine (CSIM) and on the Council of the American College of Physicians (ACP) Quebec Chapter. He has also been named Governor-Elect Designee for the ACP Quebec Chapter.
