Title: Ext algebras of subvarieties and formality theorems

Abstract: In this talk I will present ongoing work with Alex Vitanov, in which we use formal geometry methods and a formality theorem to try to describe the Ext algebra of the sheaf associated with a closed embedding of smooth algebraic varieties. I will recall the case of the diagonal embedding, and then explain the two main tools that we use (formality theorems and formal geometry, on which no prior knowledge is assumed).

Earth Day Gardening with MORSL

Celebrate Earth Day by getting your hands in the dirt with MORSL as we work on garden clean up and preparing an Interfaith Peace Garden outside the entrance of 3610 McTavish. This is the annual kick off event for MORSL's gardening group, a weekly meetup that runs through spring, summer and fall!
