Cu sick\, Professor of\nMusic\, NYU\, no longer is able to attend\nThe last 1 5 years have witnessed great experimentation in the\nways scholars of gend er studies\, sexuality studies and postcolonial\nstudies interrogate the s ociality and power of contact----contact\nthat ranges in scale from the in terpersonal to the transnational to\nthe technologically mediated forms an d registers in-between.\n“Making Contact” brings together three renowned s cholars whose\nprominent voices in their fields sound the importance of\nu nderstanding the affiliative parts of social life and the\nstructures of s ocial power that too often disappear under the radar\nof cultural criticis m.
