Everyone complains about the media but no one does anything about it. Ordinary people often feel like captives of an industry that seems driven by profit, politics and political correctness. Powerful, sometimes arcane forces determine the structure of the industry, how the media operate and, ultimately, the information and entertainment that comes down the pike.
