Established in honour of Charles R. Bronfman and Alex K. Paterson, co-chairs of the Institute鈥檚 Board of Trustees from 1994 to 2008, the award recognizes doctoral students whose research examines aspects of Canada. Helena鈥檚 doctoral research explores homeschooling, parental rights activism, and gender backlash in Canada, with particular attention to how anti-鈥済ender ideology鈥� movements shape parenting norms, family life, and education policy through censorship campaigns and opposition to feminism and LGBTQ+ inclusion in schools.
