Professor Alexander Manshel has won the MELUS Book Award

Congratulations to Professor Manshel for winning the MELUS Book Award!

Professor Alexander Manshel has won the 2023-2024 MELUS Book Award for . The awards committee judged it the most outstanding book published between 2023 and 2024 for both its critical innovation and academic excellence, adding that the quality of the research on historical multicultural literature and its relationship to the American canon  will provide generative insights to future scholarship in the field. The award will be presented at the annual MELUS conference, to be held in Austin, Texas, April 30th to May 2nd, 2026. MELUS (Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States) is an association dedicated to the study of multiethnic American literatures.
