 opsis:\n\nPartition fuses archival footage from the British occupation of 
 Palestine with audio recorded of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon\, tracing
  lines of continuity left by seismic displacement. Silent films gathered i
 n imperial collections hold histories that have barely been told\, and way
 s of colonial seeing that seep into the present\; Partition uses dialectic
 al montage and asynchronous sound to examine both. Recovering Palestinian 
 presence through story\, voice and song\, unraveling colonial pasts throug
 h soundscapes of the precarious present\, Partition is a meditation on wha
 t bodies remember and empires forget.\n\nBio:\n\nDiana Allan is a filmmake
 r and professor of anthropology at Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ where she co-directs 
 the Critical Media Lab. She is the co-director of the Nakba Archive and ho
 lds a Canada Research Chair in the anthropology of living archives. Her pu
