Amrita is an Honours student in Anatomy & Cell Biology at Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ and currently serves as the Vice President Finance for the Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Anatomy & Cell Science Society (MACSS). Her journey with MACSS began as a U1 Representative, an experience she loved so much that it inspired her to stay actively involved in this vibrant and supportive community.

Beyond her leadership role, Amrita has a strong passion for research and healthcare. She has contributed to nephrology research and is now focused on HIV care in migrant populations. Her volunteer work at the Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Health Centre (MUHC) allows her to engage directly with patients, deepening her understanding of the healthcare system and fueling her long-term interest in women’s health and systemic improvements.

Interestingly, Amrita never expected to enjoy research—but after volunteering in a lab, she discovered a genuine love for it. This newfound passion has shaped her goal of pursuing an MSc after graduation. Through MACSS, she hopes to create more opportunities for students to explore research, mentorship, and unexpected career paths.

Mental health and honesty are values Amrita holds close. She believes university life can be overwhelming and strives to make the department of Anatomy and Cell Biology a space where students feel supported and understood. For her, setbacks and struggles are part of learning, and she encourages leaning on one another during tough times. Amrita is always available for advice, questions, or simply a friendly conversation, and she feels grateful to be part of such a strong, caring department.

When she’s not immersed in academics or volunteering, Amrita describes herself as a coffee lover, chronic yapper, and constant learner—always ready to embrace new experiences and share her enthusiasm with others.
